2025 Candidate Filing Information
- If the Town Council chooses the traditional voting method: June 2 to June 5, 2025.
- If the Town Council chooses ranked choice voting: August 12 to August 16, 2025.
The decision between traditional and ranked choice voting will be determined no later than May 1, 2025.
If the traditional method is chosen, the Primary Election is scheduled for August 12, 2025.
The General Election for both methods is November 4, 2025.
Candidates may declare their candidacy at the office of the clerk/recorder at the Greater Salt Lake Municipal Services District, 860 W. LeVoy, Taylorsville, Utah 84123
Qualifications to Run for Office
- Be a United States citizen at the time of filing
- Be a registered voter of the municipality
- Be a resident in the town, township or city for 12 consecutive months prior to the election.
- Not be a convicted felon unless the right to hold elective office has been restored.
